BIRDS OF BROOK MEADOW
Edited by Brian Fellows
Here is a list of all birds recorded on the Brook Meadow site since Year 2000.
A total of 79 birds have been recorded in this period of which about 50 are regularly recorded each year. Some have only been seen/heard once or a few times. Some are only seen flying overhead. About 20 birds breed regularly or occasionally on the Brook Meadow site, which includes grassland, scrub, woodlands and streams. Two breeding birds are regular migrant summer visitors, Blackcap and Chiffchaff. Whitethroat used to be a regular migrant but has become scarce since 2020 and was not see at all in 2022.
The first section shows the birds recorded in 2023 – total = 59.
The second section shows those birds seen in previous years, but not seen in 2023.
